Practicing within the expanded field of painting, my interest lies in the visceral sensations evoked by art - both through the playful studio process and when experiencing the outcome - as well as disrupting the traditional conventions of what makes a painting. Expanding beyond the 2D pictorial plane as a space for illusion, I investigate the contemporary notion of painting as an object. Playing with what pictorial tradition hides - often subverting the canvas support to expose the structural framework behind the illusion - the subject matter is paired back to focus on the object's compositional interaction of form, colour and texture within space.
My expanded painting practice is process-driven, embracing a playful and curious exploration of the art studio as a space for my wellbeing. This studio enquiry acts as a preverbal filtration system to process daily life and make sense of my experiences in an abstract way - navigating personal history and identity within society. This abstract creative process manifests in a visual language that seeks to arouse sensorial curiosity - an embodiment that I have come to liken to a visceral playground.

I recognise the unceded land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation within which I live and create. I pay my respects to the traditional custodians, promising to listen and learn.
